Lip Blush Tattoo
Lip blush tattoo is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment that enhances the natural color and shape of your lips. Using a special machine and pigment, a soft wash of color is added to the lips—think of it like a long-lasting lip tint rather than a bold lipstick. It can be customized to look very natural or a little more defined, depending on your style. The result is lips that look more even, youthful, and subtly enhanced without needing daily makeup.

Who is it best for?
Lip blush is great for clients who:
-
Want to wake up with naturally fresh, rosy-looking lips every day
-
Have pale, uneven, or fading natural lip color
-
Like a polished look without wearing lipstick all the time
-
Want to subtly balance or define the lip shape
-
Are looking for a low-maintenance beauty treatment that saves time
It’s especially helpful for people who’ve lost pigment in their lips over time, or anyone who just wants that “my lips but better” effect.
Before your appointment
Preparing your lips is key to getting the best healed results.
1–2 Weeks Before:
-
Hydrate & nourish: Drink plenty of water and apply a good lip balm daily. Soft, healthy lips hold pigment much better.
-
Exfoliate gently: Use a sugar scrub or soft toothbrush to remove dry, flaky skin a couple of times per week.
-
Avoid harsh treatments: Do not get lip fillers, chemical peels, or laser treatments within 2 weeks of your appointment.
-
No blood thinners: Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and caffeine for 24–48 hours before your session (unless prescribed by your doctor). These can cause excess bleeding and affect pigment retention.
-
Cold sore prevention: If you’re prone to cold sores, ask your doctor for an antiviral prescription (like Valtrex) and take it as directed before and after your appointment. Lip blush can trigger an outbreak, which will affect healing.
Day of Appointment:
-
Arrive with clean, bare lips (no makeup, lip balm, or lipstick).
-
Eat a light meal before your session to avoid feeling lightheaded.
-
Come relaxed and ready — the procedure can take 2–3 hours.
After Care
Proper aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself! Healing usually takes 7–10 days for surface healing and 6–8 weeks for full color development.
Days 1–2 (Immediately After):
-
Your lips will look brighter and bolder than expected — this is normal.
-
Swelling and tenderness are common. Use a cool, clean compress (not ice directly on the lips) if needed.
-
Keep lips clean and dry. Dab gently with a sterile cotton pad if any fluid or lymph appears.
Days 3–7 (Peeling Stage):
-
Lips will start to scab and flake. This is normal — do not pick or peel, or you’ll lose pigment.
-
Apply the recommended healing ointment (provided by your artist) 2–3 times a day with clean hands or a cotton swab.
-
Keep lips moisturized, but don’t over-apply ointment (they need to breathe to heal).
What to Avoid While Healing (First 10 Days):
-
No makeup, lipsticks, or tinted balms on the lips.
-
No kissing, oral contact, or sharing cups/utensils (prevents bacteria transfer).
-
No swimming, saunas, steam rooms, or long hot showers.
-
Avoid heavy sweating (gym workouts, hot yoga).
-
No picking, scratching, or rubbing lips.
Weeks 2–6 (Color Settling):
-
Pigment will fade up to 50% during healing and then slowly “bloom” back. Be patient — final results are visible after full healing.
-
Lips may appear patchy until your touch-up session (usually at 6–8 weeks).
Long-Term Care
-
Always wear SPF lip balm — sun exposure fades pigment.
-
Use gentle lip care products (avoid strong exfoliants directly on lips).
-
Book touch-ups every 1–3 years to keep color fresh.
Remember: Healing is a process — trust it! Your true lip blush color will appear soft, natural, and beautifully enhanced once fully healed.
